​​Daryn Wright is a ceramic and installation artist working on the ancestral and unceded lands of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm, Sk̲wx̲wú7mesh and səlí̓lwətaʔɬ nations (known as Vancouver). Her practice considers the archive, ecologies of labour, the sublime, and everyday rituals through sculpture, installations, photographs, organic material, and food.

Everyday, ordinary objects are made strange and unfamiliar as a way of demonstrating the potential to enter into the otherworldly – to take what we know as familiar and reconfigure new contexts. Forgery and false history is as important in her work as hard research – through the lens of counter-archival practices in which things are invented, a new angle to the truth can be uncovered.
